A number of changes have been made on the rules and guidelines that will guide workers on how they can get their UK Tier 1 visa. The latest version of the rules and the guidelines was released on September 11, 2008. Changes on the Tier 1 were accompanied by changes for the Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) and Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) application guidelines. The bulk of the changes were focused on the English exams that need to be taken by the applicant.
The main message of the latest review on the application guidelines is that several English language tests were stricken off the list. So the applications that were received from September 12 will not get the points but if tests are taken before September 11, points will still be realized. If an applicant has taken the test that is no longer part of the approved list, then the applicant will be contacted and will be given another 10 weeks to take an alternative English test. One chance will be given to the applicant and nothing more.
The country will also remove around 1/3 of the jobs that are listed on the list considered as a shortage. For those who are lined up for the Tier 2 visa should score 70 points and 50 of those points should be sourced from Attributes. If the job is listed under the Skills Shortage list, then the Certificate of Sponsorship coming from the employer will net the worker 50 points. And for the job not on the list, the certificate can net 30 points.
