As of 8th of April 2008, the Conditions for the new Australian style Points Based Scheme (PBS) Tier 1 for UK Highly skilled migrants has changed.

  1. If you applying within the Country (in country application) UK, You are required to show a bank balance of £800 a period of 3 months prior to the application.
  2. If you are applying form outside UK (India), you must be able to show bank balance of £2800 for the 3 months prior to application. This is 3 ½ time higher than that for the in country UK applications. This has been retrospectively enforced from 1st of April !
